The presence of stress in the body can build up over time. In somatic stress release we spend time paying attention to the body through mindfulness, meditation and sensing practices as well as movement, yoga and restorative postures to invite stress to release and allow our bodies to move into a state of deep restoration. 

Please bring a bolster or pillow, blanket and any other props you like to use for restorative practices. Some chairs are available for those who need to sit during standing practices which can be modified to suit all bodies and needs.

 

Meet Rebecca

Rebecca Hung is a Grant MacEwan University graduate of the Holistic Health Practitioner Program and is a Certified Wellness Practitioner with the National Wellness Institute. She is 500-hour YAA certified yoga instructor, a Lifestyle Meditation certified meditation instructor, Usui Reiki Teacher, Reflexologist, Somatic Stress Release practitioner and lifetime student.

Rebecca has worked with many groups including children, high risk youth, recovering adults, doctors, and educators and was first drawn to yoga because of its mental health benefits. Her passion is facilitating self care and stress management classes & workshops to support holistic wellness in every body. She has had the honour of learning yoga from Gisele Cramer, Melanie Checknita, Gerda Krebs, Friedel Khattab, Aadil Palkhilvala, Cassie McColl, Suzy Hatley, Corinne McNally and Satwinder Sran. She has studied reiki, mindfulness and meditation with Susanne Lehrol, Dorothy Hermary, Catherine Phillips, Tara Woltjen, Mandy Trapp and other amazing teachers and students along the way.

Rebecca is so grateful to be part of the Yoga Within family and to get to continue to practice her yoga in this beautiful community.
